Vineyards
The soils of Alion parcels are placed in different areas of Ribera del Duero, allowing to make a complex wine rich expression of all the different soils in the region.
Winery
Intentionally, the winery’s architecture answers all the requirements to develop the different works with wine. The Different rooms are for fermentation, malolactic, ageing in barrel, ageing in bottle, storage and administration.
Fermenting Facilities
Twenty French wooden vats of 15.000 kg capacity fill the fermenting room. Every year 5 of the tanks are renewed so that in 4 years the 20 of them are new.
Ageing in Barrel
For the ageing in barrel Alion uses 100% new French oak barrels every year. We work with 5 different French coopers to compound the characteristics of each of them in the final blend of Alion. All the barrels are 100% new every year.
Ageing in Bottle
One of the buildings is called the dormitory of bottles. After the bottling and before the commercialization of Alion, the wine stays two years in bottle to round it and get it ready to drink.
Expedition Facilities
Once the wine is ready to drink and therefore ready to sell, we start labeling Alion. The campaign starts in March, through summer is stopped due to high temperatures and then it goes on till Christmas.
